Why so high the label? For simplicity, for the noble profession: because he baptized personally and witnessed the promised Messiah . He listened God voice. Because he could see beyond the messianic ministry of Jesus and the Baptism UNIVERSAL prophesied in the Spirit saint of the Church.
I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am--so much greater that I'm not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. Matew 3:11
He was born six months before Jesus and supernatural circumstances. Elizabeth, her mother was filled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:41. His father Zechariah also. Luke 1:67.
